The Herd Marches On... 10 Years and Counting

Herd Group celebrated a significant milestone - their 10-year anniversary - marking a decade of rapid expansion and transformation in the vehicle rental and fleet management sector.

Founded in 2014 by Nigel Schroder (Founder and Group CEO), Herd began as a modest daily rental operation with approximately 100 vans at a single Epsom, Surrey location.

The company's distinctive branding emerged organically: "It all started with our Vanimals, the wraps we add to our B2C fleet, with each Vanimal denoting the size of the van. They started to grow and multiply until eventually we had a whole Herd of Vanimals and hence the Herd Group was formed."

The business evolved from B2C foundations into a comprehensive B2B enterprise serving commercial clients nationwide. The franchise model proved particularly successful, expanding Herd's footprint significantly. Recent franchise refreshes position the company for further growth over the next two years.

The introduction of Herd Connect delivered integrated fleet management solutions, establishing Herd as a comprehensive mobility support provider.

Launched in 2024, Herd Synergy consolidates fleet management, vehicle rental, and remarketing services under one integrated solution - a unique offering in automotive mobility.
